The role of a student organization advisor varies from organization to organization, based on the group’s needs, goals, and activities. An organization’s student leaders and advisor should meet periodically throughout the year to discuss the role and expectations of the advisor, expectations of the students, organization goals, and more. The Department of Student Activities encourages advisors to support student organizations on campus by offering individual and group advisement, networking support, and sharing their knowledge, interests, and experiences with students.
