Leadership ProgramsLeadership Legacy ExperienceLeadership in a Time of Crisis: Public EducationApril 13th, 2011
On a Wednesday evening in mid-April, near the end of the spring semester, Legacy Students and other members of the campus community attended an educational lecture addressing the topic of public education in America. This lecture, held in the School of Education, featured Dr. Steven Adamowski, until recently the Superintendent of Harford Public Schools. Dr. Adamowski has experienced significant success as Superintendent in Hartford and elsewhere, and is widely regarded as an effective, and at-times controversial leader of large, urban public educational systems. Dr. Adamowski shared his view of the challenges and opportunities facing public education in America and offered his tips for being an effective leader during a time of crisis. The entire audience was excited about using the knowledge on how to bring about positive change in their future leadership experiences. |
