Peer Leadership Instructors

Peer Leadership Instructor Logo

This is a great opportunity for experienced student leaders! Experienced student leaders are invited to apply to become a Peer Leadership Instructor (PLI) for next semester. PLIs will be trained on the relevant theories and principles of leadership as well as techniques for effective instruction. PLIs then actively participate in the design, development and co-facilitation of a one-credit FYE course focusing on introducing first year students to the theories, principles, and opportunities for leadership on campus. This unique peer mentoring opportunity provides PLIs with the public speaking and facilitation skills necessary to lead a class and guide their fellow students on the beginning of their leadership journey here at UConn. PLIs will also be enrolled in a 3-credit course that will combine theory and practice of instructing students in the area of leadership.

This is a great opportunity to share your knowledge and experience as veteran student leaders with first-year students and at the same time gain valuable experience.
