Leadership Legacy Experience

Bernstein Legacy Banquet and Leadership Legacy Summit
January 18, 2009

On a snowy Sunday in January the new 2009 cohort of Legacy Students met at the Nathan Hale Inn for the 3rd Annual Douglas A. Bernstein Leadership Legacy Summit. Students spent the morning session meeting one another and engaged in a number of teambuilding activities; beginning the development of a cohesive cohort which will set the stage for their twelve months together. Later in the day, many of the students’ Legacy Mentors joined the summit to explore how they can help further their students’ journey. The 2009 Legacy Students were then formally welcomed during the Bernstein Legacy Banquet where they joined the 2008 cohort for a night of excitement and recognition. The summit continued Monday morning with sessions inviting deeper reflection and discussions about the concept and characteristics of authentic leadership. These conversations extended to discussions about group expectations and goals for their experience. The summit ended with activities designed to recognize the students’ individual and unique contributions to the cohort. As the summit concluded and students departed the Inn to prepare for the upcoming semester, it was clear the Summit was a great success and set the stage for what promises to be another exciting year!
