On September 25th Legacy Students were “dropped” into the woods at Lion’s Memorial Park in Mansfield, with not much more than a compass and each other. Their task was to work together in teams, navigate the terrain, and successfully find their way to several points before navigating out of the woods. UConn ROTC cadets led this annual exercise that emphasizes individual responsibility for group success. Each of the four groups followed different treks through streams, mud, and the brush to find their way out of the woods and to a cookout where they reflected on and discussed their experiences. |
