A collaboration between academic programs and the Office of Leadership Programs

The Office of Leadership Programs supports the academic mission of the University of Connecticut by collaborating with schools and colleges to foster leadership in various academic disciplines. It is our goal to develop tomorrow’s leaders today by working to:

  • Increase the awareness of current issues in their field
  • Increase awareness of leadership challenges/opportunities in their field
  • Invite students to explore their individual leadership styles and strengths
  • Enhance student-faculty interaction outside of class
  • Enhance student overall academic/educational experience
  • Give students the opportunity to explore ways to take an active role in positively influencing the University community and beyond.

The FUTURE Leaders program is designed to augment a student's major or career path. Collaborating with faculty in the various schools and colleges on campus, this program offers workshops on such topics as ethical decision making, leaving a legacy, topical leadership seminars and more, all with a focus on students’ particular major or field of study. The program’s format remains flexible to allow the inclusion of a variety of educational experiences that will maximize students’ engagement, learning, and development as Future Leaders!
