Program Components
Workshops
Offered over the course of the semester, students will be required to attend seven workshops addressing such topics as value development, personal goal setting, ethical decision making, civic engagement and more. Students must attend at least one from each of the following five categories: Spirit of Inquiry, Pride in the University, Academic and Personal Integrity, Respect and Dignity for all, and Self Reflection. Refer to workshop schedule for exact dates and times of workshops.
Workshop Reflection Forms
Participants must complete a workshop reflection for each of the seven workshops they attend.
Campus/Community Involvement
Students will be required to enhance their leadership journey by becoming engaged or continuing their involvement in an appropriate campus/community activity. Student involvement in an activity can range from membership (attending meetings, participating in event planning, etc.) to more advanced types of engagement. Types of engagement may include but aren’t limited to student organization, intramural sports, community service, peered education programs, and student employment.
First Year Experience Classes - optional
Offering multiple sections of INTD 182 and INTD 180, seminars are all focused on providing students with an intentionally designed curriculum intended to foster knowledge and understanding of the University, its core values, and structure, as well as ways for students to seek meaningful co-curricular activities that offer personal and leadership development opportunities. Although not required these are highly recommended.
Program Completion
Students who successfully complete the requirements of this program will receive a certificate verifying the successful completion and will be invited to continue their development through additional programs. Completion will be recognized during an end-of-the-semester celebration/certificate ceremony.
