Service Projects

Community Service Days

Community Service Days are designed so that individual students & student organizations can participate in a service activity that is convenient & meets their interests. Past activities have included serving meals at a soup kitchen, planting and cleaning community gardens, or doing recreational and social activities with the elderly. An average of 8 Service Days are offered each semester, with 3-5 different service activities to choose from on each day. Without the help of volunteers, many non-profit agencies will not be able to complete their vital projects. Below is a list of the sites and descriptions of the projects that volunteers will work on during their service day.

Special Projects

The Community Outreach Special Projects program looks to organize, plan and supervise service related one-time or short term projects, public awareness campaigns and special events. Through special project events and projects Community Outreach strives to meet the needs of the University and wider community. Through these events and projects Community Outreach looks to engage students in new service opportunities that will enrich their learning experience at UConn. Current Special Projects include Coins for a cause, Special Olympics events on campus, and advocacy opportunities.
