What? Graduation? Soon?

Hello again! I hope your semester is in full swing, and going smoothly. Mine is getting really busy, but productive, fun, and hopeful. HOLDUP! is officially underway completely! On Wednesday we are going to Stafford High School to work with students, Friday we’re going to East Hartford High School, and in a couple Tuesdays we’ll start up again at Coventry High! I’m so excited to get back to working with students directly. There is no better feeling than working directly with a student, helping them learn and giving them opportunities to develop and grow as leaders, and as people. I can’t wait to meet them!

HOLDUP

Are you also interested in working with high school students to develop their leadership skills? Do you want to develop your leadership skills? YOU CAN JOIN HOLDUP! See our website for applications, deadlines, and information. Or you can email us at UConnHOLDUP@GMail.com ANYTIME for questions, info, or anything else!

In other news, as a Senior (oh my goodness) I’m gearing up for the end of my undergraduate career. I’m ready to take my senior portrait (feels like high school all over again!), I went to the Career Fair and talked to lots of great companies, and I’m getting ready for the GREs and some other options! Thankfully Career Services and the Senior Transition and Engagement Programs folks have resources to eliminate the “freaking out” that often accompanies this time in an undergrad’s life. If you’re a senior, don’t forget about the graduate school workshops and info sessions, the career fairs, the mock-interviews, and everything else that is set in place to help you prepare for what is next to come.

If you are like me and you still aren’t sure, don’t forget about other options available to you, such as the Peace Corps or other volunteer programs that engage and challenge you while helping others all at the same time.

While I figure all this out, I’ve got HOLDUP! to busy me with! Stay in touch!
