Student Activities BlogsMiguel AlmodovarThanksgiving BreakThanksgiving Break was last week and I was so ready for it. I was ready for a week of relaxation and catching up on school work. Well I got lots of rest but absolutely no homework done. So the basic run down of my week was I saw “Quantum of Solace” twice, beat “Lego Indiana Jones” for the Wii, and ate more Turkey than any man should. But really it was so nice to see my family after not going home for almost 2 months. My little brother is no longer little. He’s 14 and now the same height as me which is kinda scary. Also my dog missed me terribly, so much in fact she followed my around the house for 2 or 3 hours after I got home - just in case I tried to get away from her again. Other than that I caught up with my friends from home (actually on Thanksgiving we were up until 5am, which was fun but made me really tired for the next day.) For Thanksgiving Day itself my family and I went up to Massachusetts to my grandmother’s house. It was so much fun, I got to see my little cousins and we played some football in the yard. I did pretty well considering I’m at least 6 years older than all of them. The meal itself was so good; after months of South Dining Hall food it was amazing to eat home cooked Turkey and freshly steamed corn. ![]() This is me and my friends Julie, Evan, Eddie, and Hannah @ Chile’s I also spent the whole week thinking about doing homework; I knew I had three papers due the week I got back. Somehow that wasn’t motivation enough for me to actually work on any of them. So when I got back on Sunday I had to start writing the papers while watching my Patriots lose. It was a tough day to be sure. The Monday before our week off, SUBOG had our last formal meeting of the semester and we passed 50 preps. So, that means pretty much we have our whole spring semester planned! I couldn’t be more proud of the board; they’re totally on top of their committees and events. As far as my New Orleans trip I’m not sure when our next meeting is going to be I’m still waiting for the email. I have the donation letters though and I’ll send those out over Winter break. It’s hard to believe that Winter Break is so close, I’m done on December, 11th and then my birthday is on the 13th. So I get to be at home for my birthday for the first time in two years so I ‘m very excited about that. I’m not sure what going to do but I’ll try and make it epic. |
